Update v2 final:
Fixed missing far distant lod's.
Corrected readme.
About:
This mod will replace the large draping billboard in Hollywood, just east a block from the Chinese Theater.
I have taken a cool Absolute Vodka advertisement, chopped it up in Photoshop, recolored it and applied the drape bump effect.
This was a bit a of a chore trying to find the hi res texture locations.
I finally found it embedded in two of the fragment ".yft" files & unfortunately Open IV was unable to view.
I had to extract & recompile them using Texture Toolkit.
http://gtaforums.com/topic/795186-wipv-texture-toolkit/
PS:
All the lod's are included here. (I will release no mod without LOD support!)
Note on Installing Texture Mods:
This is yet another teaser, more targeted at other mod makers who wish to alter this prop.
My future texture overhaul will include completely modified ytd, ydr, etc to make installation quick and painless.
All users should assume, unless otherwise stated that any texture mod released could potentially conflict with another.
Texture mods or no easy picnic to install but I have tried to refine the installation to a 3 step process that correspond to the folder names in my mod.
Until someone comes up with a better installation method this is the only way I think to avoid unnecessary file sizes or conflict with other texture mods, model replacements etc.
HOW TO INSTALL:
First you need the latest version of openIV..
http://openiv.com/
Also make sure you have File Extensions visable in windows.

Just minor note:
There is one far distant lod I missed somewhere.
You only notice from far away and may vary depending on your in game draw distance settings.
Im aware of it and will correct it tomorrow.
this has been a pain of a object to texture and i know some of you mod makers are dying to edit it.
May include a photoshop template. as you tell, its a bit of a puzzle putting this one together.
Also the readme in the zip is a little off.
Follow the installation instructions to the left instead.
Amazing work, can't wait to see more from you in the future
N1 bro !
Holy God, you found the place, that's great partner, a great job, just know you work looking for one the right texture, thank you very much friend, I vote with 10, congratulations
5/5 Good job in finding that elusive file ~ I know I searched for it countless times >.<
V2 final should be up shortly with all the lod's fixed.
For those of you who have already downloaded previous version simply skip to step 4.
Sorry for the delay, this was just about the hardest prop to map all the directories for.
I think im 100% now, cant wait to see what others do with this billboard.
Where did you find the far off lod? I'm having issues with billboards I am making reverting to original from far away and I cannot find the images.
@R1600Turbo Im going to write a breakdown of how the textures relate to their various lods..
For now just try to back engineer my file structure.
It should give you some clues.
Always look of course for the lod.ytd's in each city street rpf.
ie; "x64l.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\sunset" contains a "ss1_lod.rpf".
Similarly "x64j.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\hollywood_01" contains a "hw1_lod.rpf, as do all the individual city streets.
This is, as far as i can tell, is the extremest distant lod and can be a real Where's Waldo nightmare to edit.
Also each city ie; "x64j.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\hollywood_01" Contains a "hollywood.rpf".
You have to find the mid far range lods here also.
@justindesign Yeah I've been editing the lod's within the SS1_xxx folders, but not the ones similar to "hollywood.rpf". I just installed your mod and saw what it takes, so I will have to look around and see what I missed. Thanks for the info.
amazing work mate
