@Jayden585 Ooh I see lol. I gotcha. Thanks :D
" Once they despawn, new cops that have respawned do not know where your last known position is, therefore, chooses your hiding spot. It can easily be fixed, which I will do with the next update."
yeah it would be awesome if new cops went to your last known location just like they would in real life.. If I have 3 stars but teleport to the other side of the map, cops shouldn't be spawning around me lmao. Or if I want to go down a country road to lose cops and drive a couple mi/km, they shouldn't still be spawning around me..
"I cant control whether the amount of police is dependant where you are. Sadly it can only be done by scripting, which I have little experience in. "
I honestly thought this might be a job for scripting. Wasn't sure if you were able to pull that one off or not haha. It was worth a shot.
I'll check out Damians better chases mod. Thanks.
'Although I feel alot of these ideas are more personalized, so I will give you some ideas to have them implemented in your own game.'
I was just giving ideas to make for a more realistic experience, as things would happen in the real world. A steady progression of sort where the punishments more so fit the crime.
"Helicopter by default are hardcoded to spawn instantly as soon as you hit 3 stars. I have no control over this"
I was cool with heli's spawning at 3 stars. What I said was that they shouldn't shoot people at 3 stars. Not sure if that's possible to change. I did find something particular in dispatch.meta..
' <DispatchType>DT_PoliceHelicopter</DispatchType>
<OnFootOrderDistance value="300.0"/>
<MinInVehicleOrderDistance value="850.0"/>
<MaxInVehicleOrderDistance value="850.0"/>'
I increased vehicle order distance, so it seems to take helicopters longer to arrive on seen. Makes it more realistic in my opinion.
Your comment has provided me with a lot of good info. I appreciate it :)
Few suggestions (if possible). This is how I'd have things anyways if I could choose. Just to give you a different perspective.
One of my favorite features about the RDE mod before it became buggy and unstable(it's still unstable for me anyways) was that cops went to your last known location and they didn't track you around the map, or even track your area like this mod does. This mod should at least give an install option of having police go to your last location and searching that area only until you're spotted again. This mod keeps police in your area no matter where on the map you move to which is unrealistic and kind of annoying.
To add a realistic challenge, the radius of police patrol should grow over time when they're looking for you. For the first 20 seconds or so it should be in the immediate area, then grow to 150 or so meters, then 200 meters, 250, etc.. Their searches should last MUCH longer than it is currently to make it more realistic.. They will search a fairly large area from your last location, so if you stick around the area, chances of you being caught are still there. They will still be able to patrol down alleyways as well(if this is possible to do). As the patrol radius grows, the amount of police searching goes up a little bit.. So the west part of Los Santos City for example could be patrolling around for you. The amount of police searching around for you should be dependent on what part of the world you are in.. So if you're able to map out different zones of the world and use player coordinates to figure out which zone they're in, you could make it so that police don't send in a bunch of cops into a mountain area for example..
Police response times in general should depend on where in the world the player is. Police shouldn't respond so fast in a forest for example.
Also, Simple petty crimes such as a fist fight(without killing them), hitting another vehicle, hitting a pedestrian(without killing them), should all be one star and warrant a longer response between 20sec-300sec(5min) (similar to real life). Police shouldn't use lethal rounds for one star unless you point your firearm at them. Pointing a firearm at any pedestrian should warrant an instant two stars.
Shooting someone or killing someone should instantly go to two stars. Two stars should be a weaker(meaning a little less aggressive) to make it more realistic. Police should take longer to respond on 2 stars to make it realistic (15sec-45sec).. Yes, even in real life, if a shooting happens, it can take up to a minute or so for police to respond. I've lived in enough bad neighborhoods all my life in U.S. Cities to know this lol. Endless waves of police should be removed.. Once the first wave is killed off, law enforcement should trickle in. Like I said, they'd respond to your last known location just like real life. Killing a cop should of course be instant 3 stars. Swat should be harder to kill and more accurate shooters if possible. Helicopters should take much longer to respond and should not shoot at 3 stars. Only follow you around and use the megaphone. 3 stars should have maybe a swat vehicle here and there, but not much.
4 stars - a lot of swat teams move in and at least two helicopters. Heli's shoot.
5 stars - some military, fib's, and swat.
Can't wait for 4.0 to come out. You should add in the 'Pull me over' mod as an optional mod for this.
@Daimian awesome. Thanks a bunch :D
Question. Is this mod active during missions?
I've been eyeballing this page for years hoping for a new update to come out. I didn't think you were ever coming back lol. Thanks a bunch :)
@Jayden585 thanks!
Question -- Does this mod make police take longer to respond as well? I know it says emergency services such as EMT taking longer, but it didn't specifically say if police take longer to respond as well. Thanks
@YobB1n No problem. It was just a spidey sense instantly tingling. I can see how this would look cool for kids though for sure. But yeah it would be nice with more medical personnel if possible. I can't remember what characters this game has available to mod in. Been a while since I played.. Getting back into it tonight though :D
