Arcade-Realism Handling 0.941


I've worked for over 1000 hours on modifying every single land vehicle in GTA V, with all DLC vehicles (incl. Tuners). I'm trying to find a nice balance between more realistic vehicle behaviour, and a fun/arcade style of driving. I sincerely hope you find this mod enjoyable.
(This is still a work-in-progress, but it's in a state where you can enjoy most vehicles)

- Pretty much every changeable value has been edited. Mass, top speeds, acceleration,
grip, suspension, drag and downforce, ...
- Vehicles have slightly less grip and breaking force, but still enough to be fun to drive.
- Suspension upgrades give (most) stiffer springs and more grip.
- Crashes and accidents cause more damage. If you don't like this, I recommend you buy
armour for your vehicle.
- Vehicles have a better sense of weight to them.
- Removed ABS from older cars. Later vehicles from around the '90s have it as an option
(Get in a Blista Compact and find out!).
- Cars like the Adder can reach 400 plus Km/H, similar to their real life counterparts. In fact,
all cars have speeds closer to their real-life counter parts.
- Some more advanced vehicle settings that were only possible after later GTA updates
have been applied to vehicles from before those updates.
- So much more... I even added some hidden features in there. (Let me know if you think
you've found one!)

Simply use OpenIV to replace the handling.meta file in your mods/update/update.rpf/common/data folder. Make a back-up if you want to.

Since all vehicle files are in one file, GTA V has problems loading in so many vehicles. To easily fix this, I recommend using Delapidated's config file mod, and the three others he suggested:

To make it more clear to all of you what to expect, upcoming updates will be about:
- 0.95 - Muscle Cars
- 0.96 - Off Road (This might take a lot of time, as I want it to be JUST right. Unless I strike
gold immediately, expect small, but frequent updates)
- 0.97 - Bikes (Same as above. I really want to make them feel weightier. I ride a bike IRL
too, so I'm not exactly happy with my tweaks so far)
We'll see after that. Maybe planes. (The only thing currently in this mod, I believe, is some testing with the Lazer)
Of course, if new DLC comes out, that'll take priority.

- Some cars' roll values are just a smidge too low. Fine for regular driving, but at high
speeds or banked corners, might cause the car to roll over. Working on that!
- I had to copy over data from hundreds of files into just one, I may have made an error left
or right. Some vehicles still have "older" settings.
- Some cars have too many issues with the "DontForceGroundClearance" flag.

0.941: Tweaked the majority (50 plus) cars in the Muscle car category (list in images)

0.94: Finished the last Sports cars (about 25, see list in images)

0.932: Tweaked about 35 Sports cars (list in images)

0.931: Started tweaking Sports cars. About 30 cars in this update (list in images)

-Tweaked all the vehicles in the Sports Classic category (roughly 40)
-Fixed strange behaviour in the Banshee
